About ME

Devette Green is the owner of Designs by Devette and Prep Tutoring Solutions, Inc. She taught cosmetology at Augusta Technical College for 12 years before resigning in December of 2021. Devette received a Master Cosmetologist license in 1997 and a Cosmetology Instructor license in 2010 in the state of Georgia. In addition to several certifications/diplomas/degrees,  she has a Master's Degree in Cosmetology from the Institute of Cosmetology located in Washington D.C.  Being a business savvy entrepreneur, Devette earned an Associate's Degree in Business Studies in 2008 from Augusta Technical College. In 2012, Devette was nationally recognized as "Hair Stylist of the Year" at The Black Beauty Awards in Richmond, Virginia. She was nominated numerous times for the Rick Perkin's Instructor of the Year Award at Augusta Technical College. In 2016, the Palmetto State Barber's Association honored Devette for her dedication, compassion, and hard work with the F. L. Ellison Award which is the highest achievement within its association.

Devette's most requested services are vivid, creative haircolor combinations and flowing silk presses. After receiving notoriety for her clients' amazing transformations, she coined the slogan "Come ordinary and leave extraordinary".

Devette has taught classes throughout the Southeast alongside some of the beauty and barbering industry's most notable professionals. Her goal is to educate people on the importance of proper hair care via scientific factors of cosmetology. That philosophy is based on the belief that her clients' & students’ needs are of the upmost importance.

Devette has a passion for giving back to the community, especially her beloved hometown of Appling, GA. Devette is the organizer of Appling's annual Back to School Drive sponsored by the Rosemont Baptist Association. 

Devette credits her success to her unwavering faith in God. She is a visionary and her favorite scripture is Jeremiah 29:11...
